Visiting the Food Bank

Every week Nourish East End welcomes over 600 individuals, from over 300 households. We are a member of the Daily Bread Food Bank network, one of 207 member agencies across Toronto working to eliminate food insecurity, and to advocate for solutions to end poverty – all while providing food and support to our neighbours.

Many factors contribute to food insecurity. We work to offer everyone who steps through our doors consistent and dignified access to fresh & nutritious food. Our food bank operates market-style so our clients can freely select the food, and/or personal care items that work best for themselves and their families.

See below for a guide on how to access our weekly food bank

Our aging elevator is currently out of service. We will assist those whose mobility issues prevent them from accessing the food bank to shop!

Client Testimonial

In late February 2020, I moved with my family to Toronto. A few weeks after our arrival, the city entered its first state of emergency and gradually started closing. A friend mentioned the role of food banks in the communities, and I decided to pay a visit to Nourish East End. It was a strange feeling at first, as I was not accustomed to this type of situation, but once I walked through the door, I felt very welcomed, everyone was very kind, and I felt this warm feeling from their willingness to help others. I applied as a volunteer to give back for all the help I was receiving from the community. For me, it was a great experience. Being new in the country, not knowing anyone, and with an uncertain future, I felt a sense of belonging, and it helped me connect with people during the pandemic. My family and I will always be thankful to all members of Nourish East End for giving us all the help we needed and for allowing me to be a part of their team. Forever grateful,
